Current Initiatives
Plan St. Marks: The City of St. Marks is currently undergoing the process of creating a Master Plan for the city. The goal of the master plan is to revitalize the city and to guide development in a way that retains the city’s small coastal village charm and protects the important natural resources in the area. Waterfronts Florida: The City of St. Marks has officially been designated as a Waterfronts Florida Program Community. Through this designation, the city will receive technical and financial support to help revitalize, renew, and promote interest in the waterfront district. http://www.dca.state.fl.us/fdcp/dcp/waterfronts/index.cfm
Trail Extension: Due to heavy usage of certain portions of the Tallahassee-St. Marks Historic Railroad Trail, the Florida Office of Greenways and Trails has funded a project to widen portions of the trail. http://www.dep.state.fl.us/gwt/
City Park Improvements: The City of St. Marks is currently in the process of expanding and improving the Wakulla River City Park.
Boat Ramp Improvements: The city of St. Marks currently has plans to improve boat ramps providing access to the St. Marks River and the Wakulla River.
